I came into my i8 from a V8 Maserati. I thought I would miss the noise and manual gearbox driving experience, but so far have no regrets!
For me it is the versatility that makes this so attractive. It can be a quiet and comfortable car for a economical drive through a town, but slide it into sport mode and the acceleration and handling is plenty to put a smile on my face.
Being a 2016 model the running costs have got to be the cheapest around for a car that looks and drives like this. The road tax is £0, my insurance is £300 a year, the warranty from BMW gives you peace of mind and servicing is barely more than a family hatchback on the BMW 4 year plan.
There is also a lot of space inside (I am 6ft4) and despite what people say I have no problem with getting in and out with the doors.
The i8 is a beautiful and unique car that at present I couldn't think of anything else I would swap it for.
