Tesla relies on media hype and other marketing to fill in the gaps. The Apple model, in a way, where it's "cool" to drive a Tesla and the performance and design is really good. Musk has to find a way to bridge the gap until manufacturing, both capacity and quality, catches up to an acceptable standard.
