"Price premium" is a relative and subjective matter, of course, but this M50 model is actually very competitive priced, considering the feature set and performance numbers. The reason BMW is able to offer it at this price is precisely because it is based on the CLAR architecture/platform, and did NOT have to design an EV from the ground up. If it did, this would probably be $10-20k higher.
