My E84 xDrive28i is at the 95.000 km mark and I would like to change the fluid. BMW sells a kit, however the transmission fluid in it is BMW brand, not the OEM ZF Lifeguard. I know that the transmission is
extremely particular about the fluid.
- Is the BMW fluid just the ZF under a different label? Or is it merely something similar?
- If it’s not the same, is BMW's fluid still okay to use?
- Where can I find the ZF fluid here in Canada?
I would like to get some input. Maybe some BMW techs on this forum can share their thoughts?
