My understanding is that the P63 engine in the M8 GTE is quite similar overall to the production S63, and that the P63 is actually less powerful (granted, due to being restricted) than the S63.
It's really too bad there is no similar S48 engine from M Division. Not that I would expect such an engine to make more power than the P66 (which is more than 500hp if I recall correctly) as the text above states the P48 does. But I can imagine an S48 with 400hp+ making for a pretty cool F40 1M, F44 M2, F48 X1 M and F39 X2 M to take on the Mercedes-AMG *45 lineup.
