I haven't been able to confirm that anywhere yet, so take it with a grain of salt. It's probably a sound decision considering how closely together the F1 community works, but would be extremely disappointing for all F1 fans, especially those that traveled there for the event.

I can't imagine AUS being called off this close to the race, that'd have some massive backlash.
I have seen a lot of people in AUS protesting asking that it be called off. And here I thought USA was where all the snowflakes lived

Yeah, I'd find it hard to believe they'd call it off at this point as well. I'd imagine the government has a final say. Not sure how they'd determine who would be liable for all the costs though.
And that's assuming the original comment had any merit to it.
