I haven't been to the Martinez marina lately, but the few times I have been to the 680 area, I haven't seen anything. I don't really go to that one often, because with work and all that, I usually take pictures in the afternoon, and that area is basically set up to look east at everything, which puts the refinery in the background, and a straight into the sun shooting situation.
If I am going to make a day of it, i usually go down to Coyote Hills in Newark/Union City. Probably the best waterfowl shooting in the bay area IMHO, as well as tons of raptors. I can't walk well, so I need an area of nice groomed trails, and Coyote has them in spades.
Yesterday I drove all the way down to the San Luis NWR and Merced NWR, and got some good shots. Here is one of the better ones so far...Red-tail on the move
