It's insane...one would think you're right but ponder this:
I manage an autobody facility in Florida. Driving has been way down but my business is through the roof. Its all a vicious cycle and here's some of our observations.
-less people on the road but we are having way more serious accidents here
-used car values through the roof so cars aren't getting totalled as easily
-lots of people driving damaged cars and keeping the insurance checks
-massive parts delays causing longer rental usage, increased insurance payouts
It just doesn't make sense, we are twice as busy and people are leaving the trade. We cant get parts to finish vehicles and no one is making MORE income except the insurance carriers
