I am hoping a higher powered full i4M comes out. Something to compete with Tesla performance.
Explain what you mean by "compete with Tesla performance".
3.1 or 3.9 0-60 is literally a race to see who has the faster reflex.
How often are you going to put a Model 3 in track mode?

i4 M50 is 4800 lbs with ~540hp and 570lb ft of torque
Model 3 is about 4000 with ~440hp and 470lb ft of torque

This gives the BMW a ratio of 9.03 lbs/hp and 8.56 for torque
The Tesla Model 3 a ration of 9.09 lbs/hp and 8.51 for torque

But without a i4 M50 to play with we really don't have the performance numbers but on paper it most definitely is not a blow out. The numbers look roughly the same. Also the M50 with the 20" tires will definitely have grip.

We shall see.....
BMW has my deposit.
