His prowess hasn't been diminished by time and his race craft as well as one-lap speed are still sublime. He is ultra-fit and has transitioned to being a zen-like driver behind the wheel.

Lewis is 35 and nowadays the drivers are not as old as for instance in the Mansell/Piquet glory days.The ones being chosen now are quite young and as time goes on and with the new rules coming soon he has a limited amount of time before the young wave envelopes even the fastest gun.
