In my X5, air flows
into the seat, not
out of the seat, preventing your clothing from becoming (extremely) damp, and keeping you from sticking to the seat in hot weather.
Ventilated is actually a good description versus
cooling. I wouldn't imagine the general design has been altered for the iX....
