Breaking rules is breaking rules. I actually wouldn't have much of a problem with Max's defense if he could've stayed within the confines of the track, but since he completely disregarded track limits in order to run Lewis off track and prevent the overtake... that's as serious as it gets. You would be furious if someone did the same to Max and F1 would become as deadly or deadlier than it used to be if all drivers on the track adopted that kind of defense.
