I actually wouldn't have much of a problem with Max's defense if he could've stayed within the confines of the track, but since he completely disregarded track limits in order to run Lewis off track and prevent the overtake... that's as serious as it gets. Ham was on the outside in the danger zone and Max couldn't make the bend defending so it wasn't the best place for him to overtake and he could easily have got him with the rocket engine on the straight
even without DRS.
Ham brought all this upon himself wasting everyone's time
and his boss's time.
