If you have the space and the ability to afford two vehicles, I would do a performance dedicated one and a utilitarian one. I have this situation going on now with my 135i and C-HR. I also seem to have done the same with two wheels. I have my sport bikes and recently picked up a C650 Sport scooter.

+1. Depending upon your interior space needs, you might also look at a Camry hybrid. I have not heard good things about the RAV4 or CRV hybrids so I would stay away from them. Niro hybrids are also getting good reviews. These choices would give you great fuel economy for your DD needs and let you have fun with the Z4, etc. on the weekends.
