Jo-Sta sums it up pretty well. I will add a few comments though.

I have driven the Performante (my OP comments briefly on it), but not the Aventador (which you only buy to pose in to be honest; it's not a driver's car).

Performante may of course beat 720S 0-60 due to its 4WD launch, but after 60mph the 720S will completely leave it standing. 720S will leave it standing from a rolling start too. Can't comment on aftermarket mods such as supercharging, as you can mod both cars. Factory to factory, the 720S is another level faster than Performante.

Other thing about Performante is it does not have a full CF tub, is heavy and the visibility is atrocious. Truly horrible. I considered buying it - until I drove it. The engine sound is its one standout feature. ALA is a gimmick unless you are doing over 150mph+ around bends. Even then, normal aero may well match it. Looks are also quite dated. Forged carbon looks like a kitchen worktop.

720S suspension is so good it's like witchcraft. Steering feel is Lotus-like (best available). And it is very lightweight.

I'd actually pick a 488 over the Lambo.
