I have the original Jaybird BlueBud X and I use the "discs"
I have been using these headphones for about 4 years now and still love them. With the discs there is no bouncing of the cord and it fits tight enough you can set it and forget it.
My first pair stopped working (from sweat I think) about 2.5 years after buying them and after contacting Jaybird they sent me a replacement for free even thought they were well out of warranty. Highly recommend this brand.
