Either way - you judge the players for their era. I (and many here) had the pleasure of watching a truly fantastic collection of top 50 callibre NBA talent from middle 80's until middle and late 90's
People seem to forget that Jordan broke his foot during his 2nd season and missed 64 games. Not because of a hard foul, but a freak accident where he landed awkwardly (in a game against, ironically, Golden State). But I don't hear anyone saying that Jordan was soft.
