wire loom damage

In my case, (and at least one other case I found in searching) the wires were eaten through by a rat.

Here (USA) my comprehensive car insurance covered the $12K bill (I was going to cancel comp because it was so expensive, but for once procrastination paid off).

I found another case where a used i8 had resoldered and sealed wires where similar damage had happened. If you're going to have to cover out of pocket, that might be a viable option if you can find the damage.

Most of the cost was in labor, as the loom goes everywhere and they have to drop out the battery and the coolant lines. And probably other stuff. Also took two months as the new wiring had to be manufactured and then shipped from germany.
