BMW boss Frank van Meel disclosed that "Rockstar" was the internal project name for the BMW XM.

IMHO the "Rockstar" moniker better befits the Jeff Koons BMW M3 GT2 dropped on Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) in Norway back in 2010.
