Just as a general EV rule, especially to anyone that iX is their first EV- I would avoid going to/below 5% unless you are pulling into your own home garage you know you have a working charger.

Given the current charging network state (especially CCS) if you land at a charger at 5% and its out of service, you are in serious trouble if the next charger is more than 15mi away.

Similarly if you land at a charger and its full, you put yourself in a position of having no choice but to wait because you can’t make it to the next charger.

Lastly if you land at a charger and its running low power (say 20kW-50kW) then again you have no choice but to at least charge for 20min to make it to the next fully working fast charger.

Flatbeds dropping off depleted cars was a not uncommon sight at Tesla superchargers in my 4 years of ownership.
