I think this is a great idea and similar to my approach to my retirement last year. I swore I'd do nothing for a year and then re-evaluate. Well, I've been retired for a year and I'm still not ready to do anything or get a part-time job. I like all this free time and now my mom is going to need my help. Just going through dad's stuff, creating a detailed inventory, giving items to individuals in need, giving items to organizations or charities, and keeping certain items is going to require my full attention. I'm glad I'm in a position to do so.
