Congrats
Must be a great feeling. Congratulations.
Know what you mean about taking deliveries during rain. Hate that, but often you just can't win. I held off on an '06 Ford GT delivery for a week, one time because of constant rain. Finally, when it looked like a suitable day I took delivery.....AND IT RAINED HEAVILY ON THE WAY HOME ANYWAY! Mu i8 should deliver ~ next week, here in Socal too, if things remain on schedule. For just once, I'll pray for no rain here in parched SD County, at least for one day. Enjoy your beautiful new ride. |

You made me jealous - at least you get to drive one. I picked up mine and a 100 miles later it has been snowing ever since, with a bonus negative 26 wind-chill.
I would trade for rain any day folks.... Congratulations! |

I found out something new by reading the owner's manual this morning. (Please, fellow BMW aficionados, don't revoke my membership!)
Every time the car is turned off the electric brake is applied. For the last 970 miles I've been manually pushing down on the brake switch, turning it off before driving away. Wrong. If you turn the car on, close the door and put on your seat belt (in no particular order), once you engage D or R and press on the accelerator pedal the electric brake turns itself off. It's raining today and my i8 hasn't gotten wet yet, but I went out to the garage and tested it out. Yup. The electric brake goes off if you follow that protocol. Thank you i engineers. (Now when can we get comfort access, the display key and the laser headlights? And AM radio?)
