New i4 M50 Owner

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Well, after a few glorious years with my M2CS, I’ve traded my daily driver and picked up a 2025 Brooklyn Gray i5 M50. I’m excited to pick it up Monday (tomorrow) and looking forward to another great BMW experience. I’ll be lurking into the forum for tips and tricks, little mods or accessories that you all found impactful and any other information or suggestions for my new and first EV ownership experience.

Thanks all and looking forward to the drive!

Congratulations! Cars a beast! A lot of people underestimate the M50, but once you press the pedal all the way down, you’ll know why a lot of people say it’s an M3 killer… Have fun, be safe and enjoy the drive!

I am also looking into some mods, more so for sway bars to help reduce the body roll. That’s one thing you will notice right away is the car does have a bit of body roll (keep in mind the car does weigh 5000 lbs loll). I haven’t been able to find anything yet, but once they bring out beefier sway bars (if they develop one lol) I would highly recommend getting it. Other than that, the car doesn’t need anything else really, maybe rims but that’s it; even with rims I would be careful, not so much for the range but because bmw OEM wheels are already one of the best out there and to purchase lighter wheels it can get really expensive (could cost you up to 9k with wheels a lone, depending what brand you go with/setup etc).

But I look forward to reading about your driving experience with the M50 tomorrow, especially coming from an M2CS, that will be a fun read

On that note, I have to ask, why did you give up the M2CS?

Oh I kept the CS… they will both remain accessible on the fleet. They will both get some good exercise!

Hellyeah! 😎 I’m glad you kept the M2CS, it’s a special car. Plus once the tariffs kick in, BMW will be swallowing the cost only till May 1st, so good call! (If you live in the US).

Yes I think I made a move that works for me and glad timing was good! I can’t wait to drive this and the CS side by side, but the CS is a monster in its current configuration that I’ve got it in…

Beautiful car and the last true M2 in my opinion, amazing car.

Let us know what your thoughts are on the i4 M50 brother, very curious!

Got her home! Can’t wait to get some seat time! For some reason my post keeps showing the wrong photo from what I uploaded, so please ignore the repost of my M2CS, which I can’t seem to delete… 😒

Love it! It’s beautiful in Brooklyn Gray! I have the same setup just in black:

See you’ve got the solar panels as well. I’m finally putting my excess power generation to work!

To be honest, I export most of my surplus (it’s only a small 3.6kW install), I get paid more to export energy than buying cheap off peak energy overnight!
