BMW i4 G26 edrive40 issue with baterry after accident.
Hi. i've issue with my bmw.
Ista shows fault code- 1.High-Voltage battery unit; Pyrotechnic safety switch, actuation faulty. and 2.Impact detection; crash detected due the acsm. Where can i find pyro fuse ? Its inside a battery pack ? BST was already replaced, Safety switch, who is in the compartment luggage on the right side is enabled. Best Regards ![]() ![]() |

Actually, I bought i4 after accident. So what I have to do it’s disconnect battery and go down with it. That fuse will be in rear side of battery module ?

Someone posted this on another forum, I believe the fix was about $20,000. I’ll look for it and paste it back here if I find it. You definitely want to get this taken care of by a dealer though.
Is it possible the insurance totaled the car? Can you give us some more details? |

everything is possible, after many. researches, I was replace HVS, but actually it isn't DIY, because after replacement we have to code it. Offline coding is not working because this module have coding 2.0 i think. Finally my i4 was woke up by ista online, I've programmed this module to my car and now everything is working.So for anyone who will be follow like me, if you don't have access to ista online you have to go to local dealer to program this module.

About 1,8k$ but I have access to AOS online 1 day of session costed about 30-40$. Programming in authorized dealer costed about 300$. Actually i was replaced SME module by myself so we have to add cost of assembly and disassembly battery.
Why I was replace SME? Because inside of them we have 2 pyro fuses pss4 and pss1, actually I think thats regenerationable so if someone will decide to renewal probably will be cheaper. |

Does the car show some error message when the pyrofuse is blown on the dashboard? I have also ordered a damaged i4 from US to Europe, so wondering how can you tell the car actually has this fuse blown..

The place where you exchange pyropuses verify that it is inside the battery Can't we just exchange pyrofuses? Do I have to exchange the Sme module together? be too expensive |

In my case I have to replace sme becouse some of transistors inside module was broke.I want have a calm head, because I don't trust regenerate parts which is responsible for battery. I think that cost of 1.8k$ isn't big investment in 100k$ car.
Actually you have to replace SME, code and programmed it and replace fuse in front of battery. That's enough in case of battery. Every service who make it now hate me ![]() ![]() PEACE ![]() |

Perform EOS short test.
Also, put something else underneath the battery. You have a 1500lb battery balanced dead center on a single 55 gallon drum????
