E9 CS 3.0 would be the buy, unless you have stupid money. Then it would be M1 or 507, but cruising in one of these would be risky.

Definately E24 6’series. M6 is nice but expensive to fix.

The E23 7 series was a nice car, some had the duplicate radio head controls in the rear seat fold down armrest. It could be had in gray market form in the US as 745i turbo, but isn’t practical in restrictive states like CA and I haven’t kept on the costs in the 20 years since I was interested.

The 8 series looks great, has the gentleman’s car aspect, but isn’t a great driver in my opinion. Depends if you want form or function.

Funny that somebody suggested 3.0 (way too old looking) or M1 (you can’t be series, it is a money pit and isn’t vaguely comfortable).
