In Transit....I think
My status of my i4m50 in the garage went from "at the port" to "in transit" about 9 days ago. I called BMW to get carrier assignment and they said on their end it's still at the port. Has this happened to any of you lately?

Ask your SA. They have access and can see the ship assignment.
Probably on it's way to CA on the Auto Energy ship I think.

My M50 is on the Auto Energy Ship. But that left port over 9 days ago. It then went through the Mediterranean and docked in Barcelona. Now its on its way back up to North Western Spain again! This is at least a 1200 mile detour. Can't figure out if they are picking up cars or dropping off in Spain. If they are dropping off, then are they really going to go through the Atlantic with a half empty ship? If picking up, I am trying to figure out what kind of cars are made in Spain that would come to North America?? But then again, where else are they going to stop? With my luck, it will go back to Germany to pick up some more cars! LOL.

Similar here. May find various status and terms In-transit, delivery underway at the port awaiting ship assignment etc.. from Genius, Garage (App), and CA contacts. Agree with Aatish that the report from CA will be most accurate and or up to date.

BMW website has been shit this year for tracking. I ordered 3 cars and they all were wrong in the system. My iX showed in Germany at the port the entire trip across the Atlantic and until it arrived at dealership

That's encouraging, I'm holding out hope I can get my car in time to see how it does for a mini roadtrip next month. I mean worst case I wait a little bit longer, but it would be fun.

Just found out this morning that that the Auto Energy ship is now going even deeper into the Mediterranean AGAIN to a port very close to Barcelona. So my car is on a ship that is cruising up and down the Spanish Coast! Couldn't they have gotten a different ship to come to the US?
EDIT: it just left Spain, and is on its way to Italy. Not too many miles from Munich! 09/28, The she appears to be zig zagging for a hundred miles off the coast line, like its lost or drifting. Last edited by hotrod182; 09-28-2022 at 12:18 PM.. |

Same thing here. My status just changed to "In Transit", but my SA says it's still at the port.

So…talked to Genius and they still have my car at port, but I was told this time it’s in Belgium. Tonight I found the BOL# for the Don Carlos and found my vin loaded in Bremerhaven on 9/10 and will arrive at destination on 9/30. Use track and trace on WW site under this bol # AEA23201. Hope someone else has theirs on there too!

So the Auto Energy ship many of our cars are on, has spent almost a month going up and down the coast of Spain. It also went around in circles off the coast of Italy before finally docking there. I joked that it will probably go back to Germany. Well it appears to be headed pretty close to where it started now. Can't make this stuff up!

My SA told me that my car was loaded onto the ship and unloaded same day due to a stop sale on all i4's related to some rear camera part. Now it's been sitting at the port for almost a month waiting for the part.

To make things more interesting, the stop sale on mine disappeared as of yesterday. But doesn't matter if my car won't make it here, lol.

That may not be true and is the first I've heard of something like that. Everyone else said cars are still being shipped but held up at VPC. I'm not an expert but just know many SAs say things without real info…

My stop sale disappeared while the car was on the ship. So doubtful they did any programming on the ship, lol. However, they said only some of the cars would need the recall, so maybe they have now sifted through which VIN numbers actually do need it
