I am the primary driver and car loads my profile fine when I enter the vehicle. I shared my digital key plus with my wife because car only allows 1 to be created. But whenever she starts the car, car only loads the Guest profile instead of her own profile logged in in her MyBMW app. We also tried just using my account in her MyBMW app. but the result is the same. Is there a way to make it so that either her or my profile is loaded when she enters the car using her phone?

Sounds like you need to assign her digital key to her profile. If a profile isn't assigned to the key, it will come up with Guest. This is done in the car and not in the MyBMW app.

Hmm, I might be incorrect, but I believe there is only 1 digital key and it is tied to my profile. MyBMW doesn't allow creating another digital key for her account, it only says I can share my digital key with her.

Hi,
When we got our iX we were having trouble sorting out two digital keys and even our BMW expert at our dealer only thought that you can have 1 digital key.
I then found the article below on Apple and it showed how to share the digital key - this is different to how it is described in iX manual and how our BMW expert thought it should be done!!!
Follow below and it should work fine!

I was having this issue with my primary profile. Every time I got in the car I had to sign in again to link it to my profile. Finally found the setting (in the car) to link my phone to my profile so that it automatically connected. I think you just need to do the same thing with the second profile and digital key.

That 1 key limit is for the RFID key card. You can share up to 5 Digital Keys.

Thanks all, I think I may have figured it out. The shared key was not associated my wife's profile. Going there and selecting it did it I think. Will need to verify.

Thanks to those that helped me yesterday. She has her own FOB, digital key on her and phone watch.

Wife gets in the car today and drives away, bingo my profile, but I am near the car so maybe it read my watch.

She comes home from wherever, guest profile, not hers not mine.

I am at a loss

She went out before and I will see what happens when she comes back. I told her to open the car hitting the unlock button on the fob and that should def work. Her answer, “that’s ridiculous, why would I do that, trying the find my key in the pocketbook isn’t easy”

Still at a loss.

As an FYI, the profiles in her x3 also are an issue from time to time.

Are you certain that each key is assigned to her profile? Meaning make sure the physical key and each additional digital key has been individually assigned to her profile.

I believe they have been but once again I will triple check . Her phone as a key is linked to her profile in her bmw app. The FOB is def linked

Yes, but it also must be linked to the vehicle per the video above. Having the digital key in the myBMW app is not sufficient to have the profile load automatically in the vehicle.

Your description makes it seem like perhaps her physical key fob is linked but not the digital key since you said the profile loads when she uses the key fob. You might want to check the linking again making sure that all of your fobs and phones, etc. are far from the car when attempting to link hers.

I have now linked everything of hers to the car, including her socks. Now every time I use one of her devices to start the car the profile is the guest profile.

My devices are elsewhere

Very weird. Are you able to manually change to her profile from the guest profile in the car by scanning the QR code the car presents? The only other thing I can think of is visiting the Genius at your local dealer for help.

Manually changing is easy and works, just have to enter the pin we set up
Will contact genius. It might be version of OS I have, it’s still on 11-2023.42 or something like that

Not sure what you mean, I have synced , the watch, phone and fob and all 3 go to guest unless the open button on the fob is used

Sorry I could have been clearer - if you have the 2 physical keys, 1 card key, 1 iPhone digital key, 1 Apple Watch digital key - all of those potentially need to be individually associated with the BMW ID/profile in iDrive.
