picked up our i3 REX

picked up our Laurel Gray Tera World REX tonight for my wife to replace her Prius

We test drove it last week and loved the instant torque and how stiff the car feels. Tera was the only way to go since she didn't like any of the other interiors. It feels faster than my F10 M5 and my F430 0-40mph so looking forward to getting more time with it.

On the negative side, having dealt with Greg Poland for awhile, I was really disappointed with my experience with East Bay BMW. I decided to buy local in NorCal because I wasn't sure if driving back from LA was a good idea in this car. My entire experience was pretty subpar and I was thoroughly unhappy with the poor way they dealt with the deal. It was sloppy at best with them trying charge me more than $196 more a month. I had to correct them multiple times including them trying to charge me a security deposit.

A couple pics from the delivery tonight. Will take better pics soon.

The 0-40mph comment is interesting!

Congrats! I have read comments from BMW themselves saying the i3 beats an M3 0 to 30, pretty cool.

It is a rocket 0-40. Very deceptive acceleration since it all happens silently! The BEV is even quicker than the REX. Beautiful car in a nerdy sort of way - congratulations.

I know there is some perspective at play, but it's interesting to see how much taller i3 is compared to the 3 or 4 series that's next to the i3 (I want to say a 428). When I did the i3 test drive event, that was one thing I liked about it, for such a small car, the seat/ride height didn't make you feel like you were driving something as small as it is.. as opposed to something like a VW GTI. I remember getting back into my 335 and feeling so much lower. It's almost like the extra height of the i3 makes you forget about how short it is, so you still get that solid BMW feel.

AGREED - I like the riding position a lot and that was unexpected. Plus, you see incredibly well all around.

+1 lol. I've never been a fan of funky looking cars, but this one I want for some reason. Even a cousin of mine who is a diehard VW fan and lives for GTI's, has had canary yellow S4's, etc.. can't get onboard with the styling of the i3. Yet I, having had all black/silver/gray cars, save one red A4 and champagne Maxima (in college), having always preferred sporty and aggressive/"mean" looking cars, want an i3. Go figure lol.
