Charging in hot temperature
I have 45e and every summer when garage temp around 100F it interrupts the charging process with something 'unable to charge' message.
So, how is iX charging at high temperatures? Our Tesla charging works just fine... |

That's happened to me in Dallas' 110 degree days. I'm pretty sure it's an overheat at the the charger box (I'm using BMW's flexible fast charger mounted to my wall). Delaying the start time to 1 AM fixed the problem.

I'll add...problems like this make me grateful that I no longer live in the midwest and have to deal with their brutal winters. Bring the heat, baby!!

We have days of 110+ and not too long ago, we hit a NOAA record of 122F in the shade, and I have never had an EV not charge fine in high heat and have never had it stop or throw an error message. Btw, I have been driving EV or plug in hybrid since 2017 (BMW, Jaguar, Audi and Tesla).

good to hear ix doesn't have this problem!
Wife likes our 45e but one day I'll be looking to trade it for something like iX. |

It might be helpful if you provided more information about how you’re charging. That might make a significant difference.
Ex: Hardwired or outlet? Charging unit being used? For what it’s worth, I have the BMW wallbox hardwired and I live in Texas where it’s hot AF 8 months out of the year. No issues. |

No issues whatsoever charging at 48A at over 110º here in Phoenix. I have a Tesla Gen 2 wall connector w/ J1772 adapter. The current Tesla wall connectors are garbage and overheat regularly. The Gen 2s like mine can go up to 80A and have beefy cabling. Unfortunately, the Gen 2s were discontinued some years ago.
