iX not online

So I can’t get my app to connect and now when I’m in the car I don’t have Spotify and real time traffic.

I’ve tried to turn off the privacy settings/reboot/turn on privacy but that’s not working.

Am I looking at a trip to the dealership?

Anyone else not able to connect recently?

On and off this entire week my app/car have not been reliably connecting, departure timer works only sometimes and in car voice commands are greeted with a no connection message :-/

Randomly, everything works perfect, and then all of a sudden.....it is down. Very frustrating. BMW needs to poach Tesla software engineers immediately!!!

Yea, I'm at that point now with my iX I'm second guessing not getting a Tesla instead.

Wife has the new electric Mini Countryman and has had no glitches or issues with the app and connectivity.

Going to give it until the weekend to see if it resolves.

I’m having the exact same problem. Kinda regretting trading the Tesla in for the ix right now. Had countless problems with the alarm not arming, app not connecting and like you say no Spotify and the app not connecting to the vehicle and I can’t use my phone as the key so back to old school key fob. Not impressed and only had the car a month and not one week without some issue or another.

My car managed to update its status once this morning as my wife was getting into the car but has not been able to since (at around 8am).

This happens on occasion and the outages usually do take a couple of days to get resolved.

I was just able to do a remote camera view, and other commands are reported as successful but the app is not updating the car's status and still shows it at 80% SoC, unlocked with the driver door window open and apparently still in my driveway.

My best guess is by the end of the day it will be working again.

A normal reboot will often correct loss of connectivity unless there really is an extended problem with the server farms. Press and hold the Volume Scroll Wheel until the main screen goes blank, then release. This forces the sim to reach out and refresh the ConnectedDrive features, but may not be a permanent fix if there are other issues or as noted, blank spots in the server coverage. Worst case it may take a few days to correct itself, assuming you had good connectivity previously.

So, is yours working now?
Mine is only partially working.
Commands get sent to the car and executed, but the status of my car does not update on my app. It continues to show the status of when my wife had just unlocked it many days ago, so driver's window open, 80% SoC and located at home. If I update say the charging schedule, it sends it to the car as well, the car updates, and even though the app tells me it was successful, the app itself does not reflect the change.

Let me know.

Same thing, no change for me.

I'm on holiday Friday, and will give it until I get back to see if it resolves. If not, off to the dealership with an unhappy owner.

You are free to vent your frustrations to the dealership, but most likely they won't be able to do anything for you to actually resolve it.

I sent an email to bmw connected drive to see if there is anything we can do on our end to get the car status to update correctly or if we need to wait for them to fix whatever issue there is on the back end.

This has been a very long outage. Fees like the longest since I have used the app or it's predecessor.

I thought the BMW server is down. Is that not the case ? I tried to use DAPP this AM and it was unavailable. Then was able to use it later this afternoon but everytime I tried to press the voice command button it said, unable to reach server. Its prob all connected to the BMW connected drive server. I didnt think assisted drive plus used the connected drive since the car already has the cameras and radar, but I was wrong.

services are geographically segregated and *usually*, Canadian users experience issues with the app separately from people in the US. So your inability to use services is likely unrelated to our issues with the app from last week.

they sent me the general instructions to reset idrive, update apps, check privacy settings, uninstall/reinstall the app.... I had already done the resetting, had already checked the privacy settings... I just uninstalled and re-installed the app just in case... but of course it didn't fix anything. Asked them to escalate it.

1: I am not having any issues contacting my iX via the app here in the Kansas City area;

2: are you actually suggesting that any time you press the Voice Command button, (short press) and state a command, that this action somehow is managed through a BMW server somewhere? And you think DAPP functions via a BMW server?

I’m not going to comment (yet) on #2 because I’m sure I’ve misunderstood what you were implying above.

Yesterday morning around 7 am, when I tried to use Assist plus on the freeway, it said it unavailable and I was only able to use distance control. I thought that was weird. On my way back around 11 am, it seem to work. I didnt do anything to the sensors or clean anything. But despite using the Assist Plus, whenever I tried to use the voice command button to dial someone, I saw in my headsup display that read "unable to connect to server" first popup but since the command is more local like calling a number or change the temp setting etc, it was able to do it. I didnt ask to search for a certain address which would have needed a connection to the server thinking its that the server is down

I was surprised that the Assist plus needs the server but then I guess it might be using satellite data and other stuff to keep things accurate and maybe thats why it didnt work. Just my assumption

I’m not aware that DAPP uses any form of central BMW server connection whilst in use; in fact why would it. Were you driving directly into the Sun which might have been impacted the cameras; heavy moisture of any kind on the Radar sensor, etc?

same problem in US - car shows location 2 weeks ago and no updates on current status or location. It is an app because my M8 behave the same
