caution about car opening all windows/sunroof

So, I was doing some driveway maintenance, and when I returned to my i4 a few hours later, I was astonished (and unhappy) to find that all the windows and the sunroof were open. They hadn't been open when I parked the car. Some experimentation revealed that holding down the "unlock" button on the keyfob causes all the windows and sunroof to open. So, the button must have been pressed down in my pocket, without my realizing it, which caused the car to open up, and I had no inkling. If the car had been outside in the rain, this would have been disastrous. I'm writing here to warn other owners to be aware that the keyfob can silently cause the car to open up, so that folks might want to double-check that the car is actually closed when parked outdoors.

Have you never owned a German car before? Even vws do that since the advent of power windows if you turn the key in older models without fobs to the left they would roll down the windows and open the roof. I suppose the genius at the dealer should have gone over that with you on delivery but maybe they assumed you knew about it. Definitely a feature not a bug. Also if you have your side mirror selected left when you back up your right mirror on the curb side will dip so you can see the ground in reverse .. if you have your lights on auto at slow speeds your cornering lights come on to help you maneuver in parking lots etc ...I'm trying to remember if there are any more German quirks we should remind you about oh yeah... Gas tank is always on passenger side so when you run out of gas on the Autobahn you don't have to stand on the traffic side of your car while you top off with your Jerry can ..there are likely more that I don't know....

Ahhh. Didn't know that one about why the gas tank was on the right! Awesome.
