Recently I have the dreaded "electric range only, drivetrain error" message. My rex will run in emissions mode but sometimes it will start, stop the start again and stay on. After running it in emission mode I can then get it to work HSOC. The code stored is CD8C2B. Anyone now what my issue could be?

I had that when it was really cold outside and since it's warmed up I've never had that issue again.

Not sure if it's the little blue solenoid but it's cheap and easy to fix.

I know their was an issue with it and once people changed it they never had an issue again.

Otherwise I don't use the engine that much if at all so can't be of more help.

Assumed you changed the little 12 v battery up front. Heard when those go bad, all kinds of issues pop up. I just got. 2017 REX 2 weeks ago and changed the battery last Friday. Original battery in the car. Cost $480 at the dealer. Could have done it myself but I didn't want to mess anything up and be posting here about codes. Hope you got it resolved.
