2025 m340 lights and radio staying on

Hey guys, I know of this happening with a couple others but I haven’t been here in 6 months.
I have a 2025 BMW M340 Xdrive. Love most of it.
I have all the settings set the way I like them but I’m having an issue with after I park in my garage the lights and radio staying on all night.
I go through my shutting down routine (stupid, I know, but BMW over complicating things). I put the car in park, then hit the off button and then I leave. But if I don’t lock The car the lights will stay on all night. It’s been since I got the car. I don’t WANT MY ALARM ON IN MY GARAGE AND I don’t WANT TO LOCK MY DOORS INMY GARAGE! MY CHOICE! But BMW thinks otherwise! So several times if I forget to arm my car and then disarm the lights stay on all night!
I brought it to the dealer about this. They’ve heard of it happening to others but yet still couldn’t find an issue or fix the problem.
I will bring the car in again for this April 2nd. If you all could chime in maybe you could help me explain better.

You should be able to set in iDrive that everything turns off when you open your door after turning off the car. You also can push the on/off button twice rather than just once and that will shut everything down immediately.

Yep. Solution is to push the on/off button twice. Just make sure your foot isn’t on the brake otherwise it will turn on the motor.

on/off twice does not work on new G series vehicles, only F series...

There are 3 ways to get the screens to shut down:

-Make sure the 'turn off after opening door' feature is active. Last door to be opened will shut down all electronics.
-Lock the vehicle after exiting, as you already know
-Push and hold the volume knob for about 3 seconds after engine is off

?? Last door to be opened?? On my 2020 M340i I had the “turn off after opening door” set and everything shut down the moment I opened the driver’s door. Is that what you are saying?

Sorry, that was a little vague on my end. Yes, that is correct. However, if you have multiple people in the car, it will only shut down the screens when the last passenger opens their door. ie: If you have someone in the driver's seat and someone in the passenger seat, if only one person opens their door, the lights stay on. Once the other person (last person) opens their door, that's when the lights will shut off.

This is odd. My 8 series will only stay on for like 5-10 mins and then shutoff. Your vehicle will stay on all night?

I guess another question is why are you so against locking your vehicle in the garage? Do you live in a small town or something? I always lock my car in my garage. ALWAYS. I don't want some punk ass rooting around in my stuff if they were to break in.
