My i4 M50 is ordered. Have you ordered an i4?
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Today I went in and signed on the dotted line for an i4 m50. Currently driving around in an X5 45e, which I've had from new since July 2020. Most of the mileage I've done is electric - which we usually get around 40 miles out of the charge. Seeing the current second hand market and that my 45e is pretty much still at the value I paid for it, its a no brainer for me to make the switch. Spec: Frozen Portimao Blue metallic 20" 868 M Double spoke Bi-colour Jet black alloys M Sport brakes with Red calipers Individual Piano black trim Black with blue stitching vernasca leather Packs: Comfort Pack (Comfort Access, Lumbar support, additional storage, heated steering) Visibility Pack (Laser lights, high beam assistant) Technology Plus Pack (Drive Recorder, Driving Assistant Professional, Parking assistant plus) M Technology (its essentially the 20" wheels, upgraded cooling) Extras: Sun protection glass Electric sunroof BMW individual high gloss shadowline BMW individual lights shadowline Left off: Towbar M Sports Seats Leather Dash Unsure about whether to addon the leather dash, or the front M sports seats. Wife likes them.. I'm 50/50. ETA currently is between March and June. Will know the build slot closer to December!

I like the leather dash im the 7 series I had for a month. For me it's a go. if we get the M seats here in the US, I'll get them but it looks like Canada isn't getting them so I don't know if we will. The tow bar probably isn't coming to the US and I don't think the dark glass is either. Not available in Canada. We shall see. I'm going for Tanzanite and cognac interior. Up in the air between piano black and carbon trim. All the other options on your car is pretty much my build car. I have money burning a hole in my pocket. This will be the very first car I have ever ordered exactly like I want.

Nice spec, March-June worries me though, I ordered in august and was told Dec-Jan, however I’ve been trying to get a build date since and not getting much luck.

Dealers get their build quotas at the end of October my dealer told me, so it depends where you are in their queue and how many they get.

Here in the states the allocation to dealers was driven by pre-orders assigned to a dealer. If you made the pre-order and deliver by June cut off then dealer allocation wouldn't matter. They will deliver by June.

Brave going with frozen paint! Don't scratch it!
I went with Brooklyn Grey. Almost fully loaded. Looking like a March delivery.

I don't need a car now, but jumped in line expecting a long wait. Had the deposit not been refundable, may not have pulled the trigger as fast. While the Tesla has great tech and is fast, I'm looking for the comfort and luxury that BMW can provide. Had the i4 been 500 lbs lighter, with a flat floor in the rear, would have been more of a slam dunk. Never owned a M, don't need that power, I'll take the range. I'm in the 'its more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow' camp. Still waiting for reviews of the eDrive40.
My 335D with 120K miles, which still runs like new, should be good for at least another year. If still a car shortage next year and forced to pay MSRP, this should be balanced out by a better than average trade in value. |

Great spec, talk about going insane with the options list... I did that with my 440i and didn't see a penny back, but I do find it hard to be frugal!!
Have you heard if the HUD is there or not? I am close to ordering too, just awaiting a quote. Some dealers have said it's on the M50 but not the 40 and vice versa. If it's not there it's a no from me. My spec will likely be: San Remo Green Cognac M Sports Seats Carbon trim 20" alloys (although the reduction in range was a surprise!) Red callipers Comfort Pack Sunroof Tow bar Shadowline stuff with lights I need to work out whether the standard LED's are adaptive or not. I've got adaptive LED's in my X3M and love them and don't really feel the need for the lasers. It's annoying that the sunroof isn't panoramic, but I drove a 4 series when my car was in for a service and it felt claustrophobic in comparison. I'm being told April-May for delivery.

I believe there IS a HUD. From what I've seen from reviews (see
right side of screenshot). The way I see it.. I'm going to have the car for the next 3-4 years and I don't want to skip out on some of the nice to haves. I did it with my 45e (left off comfort access) and I regret it! Range reduction did take me by suprise, but I've found nothing to corroborate it. I'd love to see a whitepaper/tech spec etc.

I ordered mine in back in August, but I'm will be postponing the final order until I can spec Merino leather for the seats, which should be possible from around March next 2022. This means I don't know when I'll get mine, otherwise I'd get it in Q2-2022.
This is my preliminary spec, subject to some final changes: https://webfrontend.evecp.bmw.cloud/259556a // Almost all options included, but with Sport seats, not M-Sport. I will be changing the gear shifter as well, for one without the tedious blue on it, probably this one: https://www.bmw.no/no/topics/offers-...lcantara1.html

Nice build, huge fan of the frozen blue. Me and my wife ordered an m440 gran coup for her on October 9th and should expect to pick it up December or early January. I was told we were the first ones to order that car in the Fairfield area of CT.

Still waiting for the USA configurator. We keep cars at least 10 years thus looking for all the creature comforts. Along those lines you can only get perforated/ventilated seats with sensatac, not real leather?
I wonder why the i4 M50 is not offered with smaller wheels to obtain better range? Brakes too large? |

Thank you! Took a little bit of searching to find it.. but wow, what a difference. I guess WLTP on 19" would equate to around 280ish.. 20" being around 230ish. Massive difference there. May speak to my dealer tomorrow and see about dropping to 19's! |

I'm going with Tanzanite Blue if offered in the US. I also want cognac leather and the M seats if they arrive stateside. Also fully loaded including carbon fiber package and leather dash. I don't care about the range so I'm going 20" with the tech package.

It's not the diameter, it's width that is reducing the range. Big fat sticky tires to launch the car.

I'm going to change my spec to 19's too. I love the 20's but I was nervous about the official range without the crazy reduction! 230 is not enough.
