The Mercedes W13 struggles tremendously with porpoising..
The translation of porpoising is like the car is driving over bumps !
The air stream in the wind channels Isn't working like it should be and it disturbs the cars balance completely .
That's why the W13's ground-effect is currently failing ...

The 2022 surprises so far are 1-Ferrari and 2-McLaren .

It's not exclusively Mercedes, no team has fully tackled it:

1)

You did well to find that with no vid coverage outside F1 circles.

Binetto said the fix is straightfoward, it is as simple as raising the ride height. But there is significant performance advantage running as low as possible. A compromise will have to made with setups. The video above is said to be done when Ferrari was pushing setup a little far. Mercedes experienced increased porpoising in morning session with Lewis in the car. Russell said porpoising wasn't as bad when he was driving later in the day. This could be the measure of successful cars this year, how low can you go before experiencing excessive porpoising.

Thanks?

I think I can find AMR, and a tiny bit of redbull. I'm still looking.

Lololol it's like me on my mountain bike with the dampers set to fully soft. Every pedal makes it bounce.

You can't raise it too much for legality reasons. Redbull have already modified their floor with a cut to cap off down force. If you can do that you avoid the bounce. Other teams have followed suit in cutting the floor as well, this was also how it was done back in the early ground effects days.

I am curious if there are ways to fix it without sacrificing performance.

What is interesting Albon was quoted as saying the porpoising had no effect on their lap times.

It seems it is more of a safety concern and/or car reliability concern. I believe most of the teams will get it sorted.

Russell:

“Certainly (we’re) not ahead, pretty sure of that. They(Ferrari) seem to have things well under control and they look very strong — low fuel and high fuel, and with the tire management. Who knows? We all know that we’re on different programs, but we definitely know from the average of all of the different runs, we’re behind them at the moment. Let’s wait and see. The championship is not won in Barcelona in winter testing. But it’s certainly been an intriguing two days so far.”

Interesting because some report it's harder to see. It's also damaging the bottom of the floor as it hits the track. You can see the scoring of the track on some of the turns.

F1 official video:

You can see alpha Tauri and amr with the rocking effect. Notice the sparks every time it rocks back and forth, something is definitely hitting the ground.

As Maverick says in Top Gun ''this is getting complicated'' a lot of fiddling, adjustments being made for the next test in Bahrain.

Yup, this porpoising issue is really tough for the teams, and it doesn't help F1 banned the damper tech that would have really helped this.

Ricciardo has commented that Merc and RBR are 'sandbagging' (we've heard that before) letting Ferrari and McLaren take the lead in testing and only showing their full hand at the first desert race in Bahrain where also the next test session is due on March 12-14.

I mean we will see, there still are issues to be resolved and the teams don't seem to fully understand their cars yet.

That said Max has gone quickest nearly matching Leclerc's time of yesterday, what a difference a day makes while the Merc is still languishing last.
It would be great to see the afternoon session like a quali with Max and Lec fighting it out and no doubt the Merc all of a sudden speeding up.
