For the i4 cant speak for the IX although have tested IX also, but the i4 adaptive system is completely out of function at this time of the year, right now February month in Sweden is still very dark but the amount of road salt on the road and the snow/slush piles on the sides on regular roads is causing the adaptive drive system not to work, can confirm the same on my sisters IX, its out of function it can't detect road marks, cant see them sense they are pretty much salt covered so the car can't recognise the markings from the salt witch is causing havoc for the system.
Yet my wifes KIA Ceed is working perfectly fine in this conditions witch is weird consider BMW should be ahead in this department. So the only thing that is working is the adaptive cruise control but also goes out of function when its heavy snow/sleet outside. So BMW has some work to make their systems work in every condition not just ideal winter conditions where they test the cars in northern Sweden where it is clear skies and road salt is hardly ever used and having stable winter. Yesterday we had this winter condition heavy snow, +1 to +2c perfect conditions for heavy snowfall, with salt trucks driving and pouring out salt and destroying our roads in masse, and during the night the temperature dropped to -5c causing pretty much everything to instant freeze. The systems are not made for this conditions.

Nahlem out of curiosity do you know how well the Tesla AutoPilot self-driving system performs in Sweden? I know Teslas are very popular in the Nordic countries.

Right now the temperatures are climbing up to +5c and going up to +8 witch is weird for February in Sweden, and that will cause all the remaining slush and salt on the road to spray the whole front and cover the sensors and radars witch will again cause havoc to the system. Last night when backing in to the garage at home after the snowfall had died down a bit, a lot of snow was melting on the car forming ice covering the backup sensors so the car was screaming at me when backing up the car in to the garage PARKING SYSTEMS DISENGAGED DO NOT RELY ON PARKING SYSTEM. No kidding ![]() I need to get a dash cam installed and start posting videos of how these systems interact during winter might actually be good feedback for someone if they are interested to have such systems with the car :-)
