I have never been able to remotely upgrade software on my M60 since purchased back in Jan. My mobile app still shows version 11/2022.44

Car has build date 5/22. And manual battery precondition is available in the charging screen.

And still NO lavender interior lighting
I have had my ‘22 iX50 for a year now, with a grand total of ZERO OTA updates. I have 03/2023.65, which was dealer installed with my last recall.

Every time I bring in, I complain about the OTA updates apparently not working. The SA always says something like “they roll out in waves”, but I noticed never documents it in my file. Just wondering if they don’t want it to be considered a chronic problem?

The free public charger thing, even when an owner is capable of charging at home, has been elsewhere discussed. I've always regarded BMW's free public charger incentive as something along the lines of what we referred to in my office when something was offered in addition to the primary deal as a "free" bonus to incentivize the deal - "free" toaster, "free" Ginzu knife, "free" timeshare . And generally was not very contributory if you gave it some thought. Something we came to refer to as "Free jelly beans for your monkey!"
Unfortunately for many of us especially in CA, it’s not “a few cents.” Where I live it’s $0.66/kWh from 4pm-9pm and $0.31/kWh the rest of the day. That means it’s $25-40 to charge 80kWh which means it’s worth my time to go charge for “free” at EA. If your electricity was less than 10 cents/kWh then I would just charge at home but at my rates you have to think twice.

Hearing and understanding. One of the many, many. Many. Reasons I don't live in CA. But if I did, owning an electric vehicle might give me pause.

Mine is at the dealer right now for the headrest inserts and a few other things, so it will be there for a few days. Hopefully they will update it which I can’t imagine they won’t because eSIM is one of the issues I asked them to look at.

Ah, another citizen who thinks heat comes from the furnace and food comes from the grocery store! But I don't need to disparage or defend a patch of real estate or a class of people, because like J. Tiberius Kirk, I only work in Nebraska. I'm from quite somewhere else. And now back to our regular, cordial discussion of EVs....

I hate it in CA with a passion, but unfortunately locked into a low interest mortgage and can’t get anything now since it’s 7%+. EVs get carpool lane access which makes life slightly more palatable through traffic. And that’s why I drive so much too, usually to GTFO of CA.

I do understand the Nebraska politicos since farmers are the biggest welfare leaches in this country.

$0.65/kWh is really not a big deal, especially since I don’t need air conditioning, but solar panels take care of that.

To each their own, but leave your AR-15s away from my kids’ schools!
I am sorry, my post was unnecessarily rude. 😞 It is good everyone has a choice (to some extent) on where they live and that choice should be respected.

We may be relocating to your state in the next year or so. While I may not be saving on "fuel" costs anymore in CA, at this point I simply would not go back to an ICE vehicle under any conditions. The premium EV experience is worth the price, whatever the energy to fuel it costs.
