DAPP - Driving Assistant Pro leaves braking too late? I have an idea.
FYI - I just sold my i4 after 26 months, and this idea just came to me. Just thought I would share it and get some information in case an i4 was in my future
![]() I have found that the way we drive here, fast acceleration and late braking, means that DAPP leaves braking very late. Later than I would like. It brakes aggressively, and I don't trust it since I have had instances, say 2-5% of times, where I get the manual brake intervention warning. I was wondering if this would be better if I were to use the ECO setting? Instead of Comfort or Sport? The theory being that in ECO, the car would try and brake earlier to be more efficient? Has anyone tried ECO with DAPP and seen a difference in early braking? |

Yes. I replaced the i4 with an Audi RS GT. And my other car is a 2023 stick Miata that I autocross. Multiple M cars.
I like to use cruise control to avoid speeding tickets plus when I am tired or need to take a call etc. I don’t like the steering feedback of the Audi so I turned that off but still kept ACC on. But regardless of personal driving preference, I think the braking on Comfort is too aggressive with DAPP. The Audi one is much more progressive. Last edited by mbchris; 11-15-2024 at 09:45 AM.. |
