BMW Wallbox Gen 3 Bluetooth Firmware update
I signed into my Wallbox and got a message that the wallbox needs a Bluetooth firmware upgrade and to do the following, turn off the bluetooth app. It provides a link to first turn off the app bluetooth. I turned off the bluetooth and re-enter the Wallbox app and it tells me to turn on the bluetooth. I turn it on and again re-enter the app and it tells me to turn the bluetooth off. Maybe what it means is to turn the blue tooth by selecting “forget the device”. This has been very confusing, I would think to update the firmware you would need to sign into the app which needs bluetooth to do it. Maybe I am missing something any help would be appreciated.

I thought I would try to update the firmware and it stated to delete the bluetooth connection first. I did that now it wants me to pair the wallbox with my bluetooth on my iPhone. The problem is I no longer have the pairing code provided when I first had the electrician install it. I believe he just threw the paper work away when he was done. To be honest I am not sure why you need to connect your iPhone to the Wallbox. From what I have seen in the past the data it provides is limited and you get the same and more info from the MyBMW app. It appears everything the wallbox can provide is provided by MyBMW and the I4 turns the charging on and off based on what you have it set to for charging. Two questions,
1. Is there a way to pair the iphone and wallbox when you lost the code provided with the original doc? 2. Do you really need to pair to the BMW Wallbox if all you really want to use it for is charging the I4? |
