BMW Gen 3 Wallbox Bluetooth Issue
Every so often I would check the BMW Gen 3 Wallbox charger for updates. When I tried to access the app it stated that I needed a bluetooth firmware upgrade. The message came up and would not let me complete the signing into the wallbox app. The message stated to upgraded the bluetooth firmware I first needed to turn off the bluetooth in my iphone setting. I turned off the bluetooth in setting and then tried to sign back into the app. It then stated to turn the bluetooth back on. I did this direction a couple of times and saw it was doing nothing but going back and forth and accomplishing nothing. So I thought maybe it meant I had to forget the device and re-pair it. I did it and now the wallbox app wants me to enter the wallbox pairing code. The problem is I no longer can find the card with the pairing code. So I tried doing a search on the web for what to do if you lost the pairing code that did not help. I called BMW parts and they told me the pairing code is specific to the purchased BMW Gen 3 Wallbox. They say let try a pairing code from a BMW Gen 3 Wallbox they had in stock to see if it would work and it did not work. I am not sure why you need to connect your iPhone to the Wallbox. For months I never accessed the wallbox app since it is really a lam app and did not appear to provide any different data that I could get from My BMW app. The only benefit I can see is it did the wallbox firmware update once you initiated it in the app. This upgrade is the first one I have seen in the 1 1/2 years of owning it. During this time I never had problems charging the car with the wallbox even though it apparently needed a bluetooth firmware upgrade. I tried charging the car when the wallbox had the bluetooth upgrade message in the app, it charged the car. I have not yet tried to charge the car since I told the iPhone to forget the device. The blue line light on the wallbox is steady which means it is ready for charging. It appears everything the BMW wallbox provides, with the exception of firmware upgrades, is provided by MyBMW app and the I4 car controls the charging based the iDrive setup. So here the questions I need help on:
1. Anyone know how I can obtain, or find, the BMW Wallbox Gen 3 specific Bluetooth pairing code? I would think it has to be on or some where in the wallbox. I checked the sticker attached on the outside of the wallbox, it does not appear to be there. I can't believe I am the only person that purchased this wallbox and lost the card with the pairing code. 2. Is there another way to pair an iphone and wallbox when you lost the pairing code provided with the original documentation? 2. Do you really need to pair an iphone to the BMW Wallbox if all you want to do is use the wallbox for charging your I4? I know you will not be able to upgrade future firmware of the wallbox because you need the bluetooth to access the wallbox. I am not sure if this is an issue since i am just using the wallbox for charging and set the wallbox dip switches so I don't need the app to allow charging. My pairing key is a 6 digit number but it’s not a standard code, I’m not sure it’s readily guessible

PS I will note, I find the wallbox app to be next to useless. I only really use the myBMW app or the car to control my charging. Maybe this isn’t really an issue so long as the wallbox delivers charge when you plug it in?
