As many of the older members know here, I was one of the first people to put a deposit down on the i4M50 the first week it came out in 2021. I believed BMW when they stated that the vehicle would be delivered no later than the summer of '22. We all know that COVID was wreaking havoc on the supply chain. Yet, I was assured the car was coming. Fast forward to 14 different build dates, I still hadn't received my car. I watched in frustration as many others took delivery even when they built their cars after mine. I attended driving events in order to test the i4 and loved it. My dealer even allowed me to take one of their demos home for the weekend.

After 22 months, I decided I had enough and didn't take the car when it came in. I was truly out. I bought a used 2019 i3s in Dec of '22 to satisfy my EV urge. I enjoyed the shit out of that car. So much fun to drive. Even when my friends made fun of me! I didn't care. But, I still longed for the i4.

I started my search again in October. The incentives including the EV credit, BMW loyalty and state EV credit added up to $9,000. I thought it was the right time. I decided not to get the M50 again. I felt that the e40 had plenty of power, rear wheel drive handling and less weight vs. the M50. I was actually being practical for once in my life! I worked with Scott at Insight Auto and he was able to get me 10% off MSRP. So much better than my local dealerships who only gave me 2%. I wanted to build it to get the Tanzanite Blue since no dealership had that color in stock.

I took delivery this week and saved $16k off of MSRP. I think I got a great deal and couldn't be happier. After 3 years, I finally got my i4!

Congrats! Tanzanite blue is an amazing color, we have it on our '22 740i M Sport. The i4 is such a great car that a month after my other half getting one I had to have one too!

I got my car in March 2023. A full year late and I don't know how many times kicked from scheduled back to order received.
