Was thinking about getting the 3D Design carbon fiber side skirts and front lip along with the M performance carbon fiber rear spoiler for a kind of OEM+ look, however, I’m leasing the car. Does anyone know if BMW would even care if these pieces were on the car at lease return?

Could they have a problem with it? Yes per the fine print in the lease. But in my experience the dealer you return it to will not care. Perhaps save the original parts if you can.

That was my line of thinking as well. This is my first time leasing so want to ensure I’m not setting myself up for a lot of hassle in 3 years when it is time to return it.

It's a good question. I think it's at the discretion of the receiving dealership. Higher chance of success if parts are BMW branded / installed by BMW service tech. Ex: local dealer installed a MP CF rear spoiler on a sold M340i and sales manager didnt care if it returned with or without.

Ideal case is the parts appear on the monroney sticker via port installed accessories program.

Most definitely for that…even better because then it would have been part of the lease and you are only paying for a fraction of the accessory costs to begin with.

best to get it port installed, mods can be flagged on the return and require a 3rd party inspection and they will be very strict.

Well I’ve already taken delivery so that shipped has sailed at this point. But yes, point taken that there is always the risk of getting flagged on the mods.
