Windows and sunroof open automatically
A strange thing happened today when I got in my car.
I was in the driver's seat, my husband in the passenger seat. I asked him to move the passenger seat back, which he did, to the farthest position. A few seconds later, all of the windows and sunroof opened automatically. We touched no controls. I then closed everything. A few seconds later, it happened again. Again I closed everything. (Just before the windows would all open, a clicking sound came from my door.) After doing this several times, we finally gave up and used my husband's car. On returning from our errand, my husband tested the car and everything seemed to be working correctly. No random opening of windows. Has anyone else had this issue? |

Where was the key fob during this time? Was something pressing on and holding down the unlock button on the fob?

My house keys in my pocket push random buttons on my fob all the time. Sometimes I will be sitting in my living room and all of a sudden my car alarm goes off in my garage.
I think chicagofan00 was right, that maybe something was pushing on the unlock button on your fob. I recently got tired of the alarm going off, or my trunk being open randomly whenever I go in my garage, that I just went on Amazon and bought a “BMW Key Case” (more of a leather rotating sleeve), that covers the buttons. So now nothing will ever accidentally hit them again. Last edited by MPinOC; 03-28-2025 at 02:20 AM.. |

Thanks for the responses. I keep my key fob in my purse, in a separate pocket. It's possible that something was pressing on it that I couldn't see.
Since I never get the key fog out to use it, I may get a case for it to protect it, as MPinOC has suggested. |
