Oddly, I don’t hate this new design prototype. If they move the taillights down from the penthouse to the 3rd floor and just mold the spoiler into the trunk shape, the rest of tbe car looks like a solid starting point for the next 3/4 Series.
Honestly, I prefer this design language to the new 5 Series… which looks awkward from just about any angle. I love my F10, think the G30 LCI is even better, but the latest one sh!t the bed. Complete atrocities like the XM made me wonder if BMW was capable of any restraint at all… there’s apparently some hope! |

Would that be so bad? This is an interesting problem with design. Porsche essentially does the same design and it seems to work for them. BMW, right now, seems to be trying every design it can. For my part, new doesn’t equal better. Since the F generation of cars I have yet to see anything from BMW that Is really impressive.

The overall design is okay. What a ridiculous promotional event though. . .Drive up a curved ramp with downforce fans on that won't be on production models? Wheels that light up different colors depending on if you're braking, accelerating, or regenerative braking? Good grief, who cares? Buncha nonsense that would have been really cool on a remote controlled car in the 90s when I was a kid.

Exterrior is good, except I am not sure about the rear light positioning, but think this defintely have great potential to look really cool in production trim.
Interior, unfortunately was decided when screens was the albeit of the car industry, odd shape of center screen, I hope there is an iDrive controller which is a saving grace in today’s BMWs, but I think they said no Idrive for this UX, which is a huge mistake. |

I'm quite pleased that BMW has managed to create a clean yet chiselled style as opposed to all the blob-like EV's from Tesla, MB, Hyundai, etc. This styling looks very E30 from the side profile which is very cool. Not a fan of the sustainable interior materials BMW is promoting but that's pretty minor in the big picture.
