Access to Youtube via andriod box
Anyone using an android box to look at youtube? I have seen some online that have wireless carplay. I have some pretty long trips coming up and I am sure the kids will be bored.
Can anyone recommend one that works well? |

Any of them (almost) will work, but you are stuck with the screen ratio limitations of YT on the car display (which will only give you about 2/3 of the screen real estate), as well as the fixed position of the screen as ggalanis pointed out. Not even considering you might want to use the screen for other things, like Nav. iDrive 8.5 will display natively on the screen through the YT app if you have the entertainment package and the eSIM connected, but I'll assume you don't. In iDrive 8.0, you could once play YT through a couple of hacked apps prior to Android 14, but no longer, so you're stuck with either a car box or a separate tablet/phone (which as noted is probably a better option anyway).

iPad tethered to your phone's wifi hotspot would be an infinitely better experience. Let the car be a car.
