It appears that the contest is being held in Georgia which does have income tax. I mention the location, because here again the contest rules say nothing about how one actually receives the vehicle. That is one might need to travel to Georgia to receive it. Thus the "income" may be considered to be "earned" in Georgia.

I bring this up because all those game shows that are filmed in California, the prize "income" is considered to be "earned" in California and California income tax must be paid regardless of the contestant's state of residence.

Professional athletes have to deal with this same issue ad nauseum. That is they pay state income tax in each state they work, err play.
