I learned with my Model S that the software the car came with will always be the most stable and best version. Every update thereafter screws something up. I am no longer a fan of updates.

I wonder if all of us with "Starter Battery Problem" will be able to load these updates? |

You will probably have to wait until June to find out or later unless you have dealer visit. I’m hoping that dealers get new software soon so I can book in to get this resolved for the starter battery issue and get the newer update together

Has anyone gotten 03/2025 at a dealership in an iX? I know other models have, and I saw someone with a 2026 iX did. I had mine in yesterday for the 12v can’t update issue, and he did 11/2024.74 for me, and I asked for march, he tried and ISTA failed the validation checks. He noted that it’s not allowed for my vehicle yet, and he has installed it on other models. I’m thinking we’re just not eligible yet on MY25, I know we wouldn’t see OTA but I figured ISTA could do it.

12v Battery issue, on 7/2024, Idrive 8.5.
I too was trying to hold out for 3/2025. Made a dealership visit last week and specifically requested 3/2025. Sadly, I drove away with 11/2024. SA informed me that what I got was the latest they could give for the IX. I’m not sure what the incentive or logic would be on not providing the latest update when the dealership has access. SA mentioned that if they can get the OTA update to start, they usually do that before manually installing via ISTA. Sidenote: Dealer gave me a fairly loaded 24’ I7 loaner with B&W sound for a day. It reaffirmed how much I enjoy the IX, how incredible the IX B&W system and acoustics are. |

About your side note, couldn’t agree more. It’s a special vehicle and it’s not lost on me that I’m driving a bespoke platform that will likely not happen again in my lifetime. I hope that the lessons learned are incorporated into the next EV platform and improved, but we’ll see. Last edited by Savsearcher; 04-27-2025 at 06:04 PM.. |

Is there a way to remove the downloaded update that will not install?

Then you can go back (remember your original setting, I'm on like everything but shared stat data), turn it back on, and in a few minutes the car will come back online and you'll have remote access again. I've done this a couple of times. |

I just noticed that the trip time counter is now running while the car is stopped but still in D/B or R (I assume). The time used to stop when the car was fully stopped regardless of whether it was parked, turned off, or while in D/B/R. I think this changed happened in 11/2024. I like it this way better as it reflects the true trip time.
