Reports from the west coast are not good. Sales are down, wineries are hurting.
Wine, beer, and unmixed spirits are all down, and premixed cocktails are about the only broad category showing gains. Tariffs, actual and threatened, are raising the price of corks, barrels, and other supplies, and making the small distributors on whom most non-giant US wineries depend (who themselves rely on imported wines for the majority of their cash flow) very skittish and accordingly stingy with their cash, so orders are being canceled. If you have space in your cellar and $ in your wallet, now's a great time to support your favorite US producers. It also seems likely that library sales, closeouts, volume discounts, private label/NDA bottlings, and even liquidations are likely to be on the upswing for the bargain hunters out there. |

Had me a glass of Rioja with my Chinese sweet and sour meal, Faustino Rivero ulecia Reserva 2019. Must say it was slightly on the heavy side but enjoyable just the same.

Keep going until you have enough to make a pool float.

A few of the red's that my wife supplied going up to our friends for Easter.
She had some very nice whites as well as a few bottles of champagne we picked up in Champagne last time we were there. Both the Partricia Green and SixMileBridge are small-batch boutiques that you pretty much have to go to the winery to get. I picked up the Patricia Green in Oregon for her while I was on a road trip with my M2C and we picked up the SixMileBridge last time we were in Paso. R.

We went to SixMileBridge last winter and according to her, the wines were *fantastic*. We got several to bring home, and we will definitely go back again. They do small-batch Bordeaux blends. https://www.sixmilebridge.com They're very small and very hard to find unless you purchase at the winery (which is a pretty cool place). Highly recommended if you're in Paso. R.

Which one? I've never had one of their cabs but have been intrigued and picked up two each of three vintages of their Peter Martin Ray vyd Cab a few months ago lowballing a K&L auction. Haven't popped one yet so curious to hear which one you had and how it was.
While US wines are only about 25% of what I buy/own, cabs are a large chunk of that 25%, and I have found myself over the last dozen years or so buying far more Santa Cruz Mountains and Sonoma County cabs than Napa - better value proposition in my book, and they tend to be made more in the style I prefer. Edit - I see the photo now! (At least if I rotate my head ![]() |

Sorry, posted from my iPad which does this. I’ll correct when I get back to my computer. Really a fan of their Pinots.

My BIL brought 2 bottles to brunch/lunch today. The Myriad was very good. The Memento Mori was in a different league though.

It's amazing how a doctor can influence your wine selection.
I was down to my last 4 bottles of Clew and wanted to save them. Save them for what? I don't know. But beef is on the grill and a health concern is forefront in my mind so saving be damned. ![]() |

I have 9 bottles of that vintage but haven’t tried it yet. Looking forward to seeing what you think about it.
