How do you find 'search'

that is .. how good is search?

I've tried it many times and I don't find it worthwhile at all. A web search gives better results. Comments?

"-How did you find your chop, sir? -Well, I looked behind the potatoes and there it was."

You should prioritize your information. Reduce wording. Out of your sample request of "where is the altitude shown" only "altitude" seems to really matter: do you really want to include the posts with "where", "is", "the", "shown"? It's not a girl you are communicating with, keep closer to the subject. And yes, the integrated search here is poor. Very basic. They don't even seem to allow quotes like "altitude shown" (quoted!) as a single keyword. You only need one word. The "f" word works particularly well in most cases!

Regarding Web search, you know you can target the site of interest (I recall vreihen16 introduced this Google feature here ) prefixing your search string with "site:g05.bimmerpost.com", for example, to apply the interpretation might (Google girls are relentless! ) to what you want to ask on the particular site (producing the following request):
https://www.google.com/search?q=site...altitude+shown, don't you?

I have found that the best way to search BimmerPost is to go to a web browser and type in a search on your topic with Bimmerpost included in the search.

I use Duck Duck Go, but this also works great with Google.

exactly right ... it makes you question the sites own 'search' function
