Ex-Alpina owners team up with Zagato and return as Bovensiepen with M4 based supercar

Google Translate from https://www.bimmertoday.de/2025/05/2...basis-weiter/:

Quote:
Alpina will be transferred to BMW as a brand at the end of the year, but the Bovensiepen family will continue to offer independent automobiles. The new brand bears the illustrious family name and aims to combine Bavarian engineering with Italian design – and has found no less a partner than Zagato for this. The premiere vehicle of the collaboration between two equally successful and traditional families is fittingly named the Bovensiepen Zagato and was unveiled a few minutes ago on Lake Como.

Beneath the coupe's largely carbon-fiber exterior skin lies a current BMW M4, which connoisseurs will recognize in the interior and some exterior details such as the exterior mirrors, headlights, and taillights. Although the Bovensiepen Zagato is a coupe and always keeps its roof closed, beneath the carbon fiber shell lies a BMW M4 Convertible (G83 LCI) – this approach gave Zagato's designers considerably more freedom in the roof design, since, from a technical perspective, it's more like a permanently fixed hardtop. This not only makes the double bubble extending into the rear window possible, but also a design without visible B-pillars.

The technology of the BMW M4 was significantly enhanced in Buchloe, so that the 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline six-cylinder S58 engine aboard the Bovensiepen Zagato delivers a whopping 611 hp and 700 Newton meters of torque. This allows the sports coupe to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of over 300 km/h. The basis for the performance increase compared to the standard S58 is a completely redesigned airflow on the intake and exhaust sides, with a titanium exhaust system from Akrapovic at the rear.

The suspension is tuned by Alpina's experienced experts in Buchloe together with Bilstein, and just as in the past, they promise a finely tuned compromise between sportiness and comfort. The new brand's slogan, Fine Driving, is fitting.

Compared to the regular M4, the Bovensiepen Zagato is a few centimeters longer and stretches almost five meters in length. Although the headlights are taken from the 4 Series, they are partially concealed at the top, making them appear significantly narrower. They are also positioned lower and further forward, contributing to a much more aggressive look.

Each individual vehicle is finished with extensive handwork in Buchloe, so there are virtually no limits to the customization options for the interior. It's clear that the Bovensiepen Zagato will compete neither with the prices nor with the production numbers of M GmbH: A maximum of a low three-digit number is planned, partly because homologation for the US market and Japan has not yet been completed

It looks like a Viper and an M8 had a baby. Not a fan of the light Blue interior though.

Doesn't look bad overall but not all that cool either. Grille looks like an Altima, rear looks like a current gen Mustang with the kink under the spoiler and the bubbled rear window is goofy.

I see a mustang with weird body creases a bloated looking interior and a S58 engine.

Where's the supercar?
